Champion's Dinner
2006 Highlights More than 160
guests enjoyed the Foundation's inaugural
"Champions Dinner" at the Sydney
Hilton on Tuesday 15th August 2006 .
Special Guest Peter FitzSimons hosted the
evening and, along with Rugby champions Ken
Catchpole, Bob Dwyer and Ewen McKenzie,
provided an entertaining insight into
current and past rugby moments.
The
event was a fundraiser to support the
Foundation's work providing programs for
youngsters living in disadvantaged areas.
Four young people involved in the "Rugby
in the Park" programs in Airds, Claymore and
Minto - housing estate suburbs in the
Campbelltown area of Sydney's south-west -
told guests about how the programs have
positively impacted on them and their
communities.
Three teachers who volunteer their time
to assist in running the after-school
programs were recognised as Champions, and
Airds, Eagle Vale and Sarah Redfern High
Schools were commended for their support.
The Champions Dinner raised more than
$30,000!
Our thanks to
Auction and Raffle donors.

Rugby in
the Park is supported by Macquarie Bank
Sports, The Coca Cola Australia Foundation,
The St George Foundation, West Dubbo Bowling
Club, NSW Rugby
Union and the Australian Rugby Union.
